Goals

Restore and maintain sustainable water and sanitation systems, particularly in high risk areas.

Outcomes

  • Constructing three water tower concrete tanks (100 m3 capacity) in Deer Albahri, Deer Abdo Rabbuh, and Mahal Hasan in Az Zaydiyah district.
  • Supplying & installing five solar-powered pumping systems; three of them in Deer Albahri, Deer Abdo Rabbuh, Deer Alrubaidee (Az Zaydiyah district) and two of them in Almunirah center city and Alharoniah & Ibn Abas in Al Munirah district.
  • Supplying & installing three water networks in Deer Albahri, Deer Abdo Rabbuh and Aljarb
  • Supplying & installing two pumping lines (4540.5 m) for Almunirah center water project  
  • Building four control panel rooms two of them in Deer Albahri and Deer Abdo Rabbuh (Az Zaydiyah district) and two of them in Aljarb and Alharoniah & Ibn Abas in Al Munirah district.
  • Supplying Mahal AlRahmah water project with 80 liters of Diesel a day for three months. 
  • Building 21 water communal water tanks/ taps for the IDPs in both districts.  
  • Conducting pumping tests for 5 water wells 
  • Building 355 zinc latrines for IDPs in both districts; 10 of which were especially designed for BNFs of disabilities.
  • Distributing 1600 basic hygiene kits for mainly IDPs one time during the project period.
  • Distributing 4800 consumable hygiene kits for mainly IDPs for three rotations during the project period.
  • Conducting three led-community cleaning campaigns during the project period.
  • Conducting three solid waste collection & disposal campaigns during the project period where more than 500 metric tons were collected and removed to suitable landfills determined by district local authorities. It also included desludging and backfilling the swamps in order to avoid the diseases resulted from Mosquitos. 
  • Distributing 10 garbage containers (800L capacity) in both districts. 
  • Conducting hygiene promotion sessions about importance of community participation in public activities, water treatment methods, protection against water-related diseases etc.
  • Training 35 water management committee members on how to run the water project managerially and financially as well as on how to operate and maintain the water project activities.
  • Training 15 community volunteers about conducting hygiene promotion sessions, water treatment methods, conducting field surveys, protection against water-related diseases such as Cholera, Dengue Fever etc
