Objectives

The noble objective of the project is to enhance the position of Yemeni women to contribute to lasting peace in Yemen, by organizing Yemeni women to gain influence in the official peace process, relying on the strength of collective efforts and through public support, starting from the UN Resolution 1325 for conflict resolution and the integration of women in the peace building process.

Outcomes


Short-term perspective: Raised awareness, increased knowledge, and increased opportunity amongst 100 Yemeni women to influence the Yemeni peace process. 
Medium-term perspective: Women civil society organizations have influenced The office of SESGY, the Yemeni government, Houthis, Technical Advisory Group, and 10 000 Yemeni people with the Women’s Declaration for Peace. 
Long-term perspective (expected beyond the time frame of the project): The peace process actors are influenced by the Women’s Peace Declaration and negotiate for women's inclusive peace in Yemen.  
9. Outputs Module 1 output: 
1.1) 100 young Yemeni women have participated in 1 inception workshop 
1.2) 100 young Yemeni women have participated in 4 pieces of training on women’s rights and influencing a peace process. 
1.2) 100 young Yemeni women have increased their knowledge of women’s rights and influenced the peace process. 
1.3) Evaluation results design coming training sessions in the project, influence future planning of the current project, for future projects. 
1.3 ) Following up on the baseline shows an increase in knowledge of women’s rights and influencing a peace process among 100 primary target group women. 
Module 2 output: 
2.1) 
Three workshops for 100 Yemeni women peace agents have been carried out. 
100 Yemeni women peace agents have increased their knowledge of public consultations and survey design. 
2.2) One survey for public consultations is produced. 
2.4)  3000 secondary target group women have been consulted by 100 primary target group women, divided into 5-30 dialogue meetings. 
2.5) 
-Two capacity-building sessions on drafting a declaration have been given to 10 women in the primary group. -10 women in the primary group have increased knowledge of drafting a political declaration. 
2.6) A Women’s Peace Declaration has been produced. 
2.7) A planning document on how to continue the project has been developed. 
2.8) A monitoring report has been written. 
Module 3 output: 3.1.1) 3450 printed copies of the Women’s Peace Declaration have been distributed amongst the Yemeni public. 3.1.2) 100 printed copies of the Women’s Peace Declaration have been distributed to the Swedish public. 
3.2 - 300 social media posts (including live streams) have been produced by the three implementing organizations. 
-The Yemeni social media campaign has gained 10 000 likes/shares/comments whereof 3000 likes/shares/comments are on posts about the declaration.   
3.3-   The Swedish social media campaign has gained 500 likes/shares/comments whereof 150 likes/shares/comments are on posts about the declaration. 
Module 4 output: 
4.1.1- 10 meetings have been held with 5 relevant key actors (the 5 key actors are: Laura Mitchell, Senior 
Gender Advisor to the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Yemen of the UN Mediation 
Support Unit; Charlotta Sparre, member of the Swedish network of women mediators, Director of Swedish 
Institute in Amman; Marika Falén, member of the Swedish network of women mediators and Yemen expert; Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, represented by Louise Oftedal and The Folke Bernadotte Academy, represented by Barbro Svedberg). 
4.1.2- 12 meetings have been held with the TAG and Yemeni local politicians in al Mukalla and the capital Sanaa. 
4.2- four information letters have been sent to peace process actors, informing about the results of including women in the formal peace process. 
4.3.1- 50 actors of the peace process representing the SESGY, the Yemeni government, the Houthis, and the TAG have received the declaration with 1 accompanying information letter. 
4.3.2- 50 actors of the peace process representing the SESGY, the Yemeni government, the Houthis, and the TAG have received  4 follow-up information letters. 
4.4.1- The Yemeni government has been invited to the open consultation through 2 public letters. 
4.4.2- 4 informal meetings have been held with key governmental representatives and women peace activists. 
4.5-  800-1000 women participate in the Women’s March for Peace in Sana’a or a digital conference has been held with a minimum of 200 women and government representatives 
4.6- Open public consultation in Al-Mukalla City with a minimum of 2 government representatives and 100 primary target group women participating, with a minimum of 10 primary target group women.
